Belvedere Vodka, the world’s original luxury vodka, has joined an exclusive roster of luxury brands as the only vodka brand awarded with the Positive Luxury Butterfly Mark, in recognition of its commitment to quality craftsmanship, positive brand values, and environmental responsibility. This unique trust mark and seal of approval allows consumers to instantly recognize Belvedere Vodka as a brand that cares about the environment.

The Butterfly Mark award embodies excellence across all pillars of sustainability: governance, social framework, environmental framework, philanthropy, and innovation. With the help of their sustainability council and external institutional partners, Positive Luxury is delighted to confirm Belvedere Vodka as a luxury House dedicated to standards of excellence, reputable business practice and the quest for sustainable leadership in the vodka category.

Commitment to sustainability has been at the core of Belvedere Vodka’s DNA, driven by the Belvedere Cares program, a platform dedicated to conserving energy during the vodka distillation process and shifting fuel sourcing from oil to natural gas. Overall, the brand has been able to reduce CO2 emissions by 40% since 2012 per liter of spirit produced, despite significant brand growth over that period.

“Positive Luxury’s recognition of our commitment to responsible and philanthropic business practices is very gratifying for me,” says Charles Gibb, President of Belvedere Vodka. “Sustainable business not only establishes a competitive category advantage for us as a brand that truly cares, but it is ultimately the right thing to do, and I am very proud of that.”

Belvedere is a product of its environment and only sources its all-natural Dankowskie rye locally in Poland, working with ten select agricultural partners who have a long-standing relationship with the Polmos Zyrardów distillery, consistently delivering raw ingredients of an exceptional standard.

Two prominent partnerships further drive the ethos of Belvedere Vodka’s corporate social responsibility – the Raw Spirit Program, launched in partnership with agricultural distilleries to promote the sustainable growth of Dankowskie Rye, and (BELVEDERE)RED, a limited-edition bottle program that donates 50% of profits to the Global Fund to fight AIDS/HIV in Africa. To this day, the program has provided enough funding to support over 30,000 HIV positive women with access to life-saving treatment that stops the transmission of HIV to their babies.

Positive Luxury supports the changing momentum of consumer behavior and buying habits and rewards forward thinking luxury houses that are responding to the shift in consumer perceptions of sustainability. There is an increasing demand for company transparency and as the next generation enters the workforce, they want to support brands that have a greater purpose.
