Bisquit Cognac’s Interlude Second Expression forms part of Bisquit’s ultra-premium Rare Collection. The first-ever Bisquit Cognac Interlude was released in 2016.

The Bisquit Interludes are created using a blend of eaux-de-vie that has been aged for a minimum of 20 years. The eaux-de-vie have been meticulously selected from the most exceptional barrels within Bisquit cellars. Each year, only two barrels of this outstanding blend will be bottled and the remaining barrels will continue aging in a specific location in Bisquit. Only 1000 bottles are released annually, worldwide. The global release of Interlude Second Expression took place in September 2017, first in Johannesburg and then in Cape Town.

Bisquit Cognac Maitre de Chai, Denis Lahouratate, did a special, early bottling of only 6 bottles, especially to bring to South Africa. The rest of Interlude Première Expression will be bottled and released in November 2017 to coincide with Alexander Bisquit’s birthday.

Interlude Second Expression has never been tasted in any other part of the world, until now; it includes eaux-de-vie from 1947, 1969, 1973, 1975 and 1988.

Tasting notes of Interlude Second Expression

“A taste of many journeys,” says Denis Lahouratate, Maitre de Chai of Bisquit Cognac when describing Interlude Second Expression.  It has open, fresh notes on the nose and palate; fruity and flowery with hints of passion fruit, candied fruit and toffee; and a woody taste and aroma comes through from the oak barrel.
