Clarkson is coming to SA

So get ready to wave your placards of hate or sympathy ready

Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson will travel to South Africa alongside BBC employees Richard Hammond and James May to present the embattled 2015 leg of the Top Gear Show. It has been tragedy after tragedy for the Top Gear outfit first, with host City Durban ducking out of hosting the showpiece at the last hour and a scramble to find a replacement; and Jozi agreeing to play surrogate Mom from the 12th-14th June. Then Clarkson was fired after a ‘fracas’ with a colleague.

With fans already frustrated by the change in venue the organizers of the show hope that the inclusion of the famous, no-holds barred anchor will be the silver-lining of a year that will go down as the worst for the popular show with the ‘fracas’ disorientating plans from afar as Sidney and Melbourne in Australia, those shows having now to be moved to June since their original dates of April completely ruined by these latest developments.

The BBC has given the green light for the shows to go ahead but there is a catch. The BBC is quoted as saying: “These events will not however feature any BBC Top Gear branding or content.” This is the clearest sign that the broadcaster is putting a gulf between itself and Clarkson and that it wants no association whatsoever, lest it be viewed as condoning the behaviour of the show’s star attraction.

To quote the man himself, we reckon that: ‘THIS IS HUGE.’ South African fans that have bought show and flight tickets should feel a bit better with the news that he will be present and perhaps it’s the last opportunity to see him in action on local soil.
