Mercedes shows darker side of SLS AMG understudy

While Formula One reeled with shock and elation at Mercedes-AMG’s first loss after a string of a largely one-sided supremacy for an entire 2014 season led by current Champion Lewis Hamilton the company was already making its sporty intentions clear to all with this; the new Mercedes-AMG GT3.

It’s a racing version of the anticipated SLS replacement car that will compete in the FIA’s GT3 competition; an exclusive customer teams series which sees your regular super car types from Porsche, Ferrari to Aston Martin and relative newbie’s McLaren fight it one on race tracks across Europe. Interesting to note is that the AMG GT3 will use the aspirated 6.2-litre V8 from the SLS instead of the all-new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 destined for the road cars. We just that it looks so good and should prime punters before the road version hits Mzansi streets during the course of 2015.
