Paledi Segapo is an award-winning fashion designer and creative entrepreneur. He is the founder and creative director of Palse – a Johannesburg fashion label.

It was in 2007 that Segapo embarked on a career in the fashion industry. In 2010, he left the corporate sector to pursue a career as a creative entrepreneur. In 2011, he started consulting for established local designers and contributed to various fashion magazines; he was a fashion columnist for True Love and a fashion editor for Jozi Beat magazine.

In 2012, Segapo was awarded Creative Entrepreneur of The Year at the iKusasa Awards, and in 2015 he was voted African Designer of The Year at the Swahili Fashion Week in Tanzania. He holds a Master of Business in Leadership (MBL) degree from the UNISA School of Business in Leadership (SBL). His MBL dissertation is based on Gauteng Growth Strategies within the Fashion Enterprise.

PALSE – The Brand

Palse was launched in 2010 and is now a prominent part of SA Fashion Week and SA Men’s Wear Week. In 2014, Palse was diversified to also cater for women. In the same year, it launched its first flagship store in Marshalltown, Johannesburg. Through the PALSE fashion brand, Segapo has showcased in London, Paris, Switzerland, Zambia and many other African countries.

Multi-award winner and singer Donald is the official ambassador for Palse. Donald is the only singer in SA to have won Best Dressed Artist at the Metro FM Music Awards. International celebrities who have been clad in PALSE attire include singer Kenny Lattimore and the Bold and the Beautiful’s Texas Battle.

In 2015, Palse was commissioned to dress Big Brother Mzansi host, Lungile Radu. Segabo was also approached by international footwear company CATERPILLAR to be the first official brand ambassador in SA.
