South Africa Selects Top 5 Nominees For First Annual Dance Music Awards Events, Music The official first annual Dance Music Awards South Africa were announced in July and South Africans were given the opportunity to vote for their favourites. Created to acknowledge and honour the accomplishments and contributions of South African dance music artists, the Dance Music Awards South Africa (DMASA) aims to award the hard working, publicly-recognized individuals who are pushing boundaries and driving South Africa’s thriving dance music industry forward. The nominee selection was held entirely online with the Dance Music Awards South Africa managed as an audience-voted award event dedicated to South African dance music. There are 20 categories and there are five nominees in each category. Voting will be made through the official website & social media until the 2nd October. With the fully transparent user voted award process, this gives voters the power to choose the award winners. The competition will be driven strictly by social media and online interaction, no “panel” will dictate the nominees. The winners will be announced at an honorary dinner on the 5th October in Johannesburg.
