Lend your tummies to World Cancer Awareness Day

February 4th 2016 is WORLD CANCER DAY.  A day in which we can explore how everyone – as a collective or as individuals – can do their part to reduce the global burden of cancer.

Just as cancer affects everyone in different ways, all people have the power to take various actions to reduce the impact that cancer has on individuals, families and communities.

The Pink Drive and Zomato have teamed up to create a wonderful, honest, and heartfelt initiative that couples everyone’s love for food with the much needed awareness of cancer.

Introducing #ThePinkTableProject, a campaign that sees over 100 South African restaurants put together an evening in which all patrons gather together, to celebrate living and all things good about life, remembering the cause that is being fought for.

The idea is simple. All you need to do is contact the restaurants on the daily Zomato updated list, and ask to sit at a Pink Table. R100 per patron at your table will be added to your bill, which will be directly donated to the beneficiaries. The rest of your bill is the standard restaurant charge.

The Pink Drive have challenged restaurants to create a set-menu for their Pink Table, which some are opting for a decadent but healthy set menu for the evening, in celebration of good food, and how healthy food helps with defeating cancer and other Non-Communicable Diseases.

Healthy living is happy living.
