Playing with the Big Boys.

It’s not every day that you find a record breaking whiskey flanked in display with your childhood favourites. Sweets! Glenmorangie has been blazing a trail all of its own for years, releasing a single malt, extra-matured rarity each year.

2016 brings the Milsean, which is Scots Gaelic for ‘sweet things’. Aptly named as it takes its inspiration from sweet shops. Fudge, candied fruit, spice, and everything nice! These guys are not afraid to do something for the first time.

The Creation of a Masterpiece

Under Dr. Bill Lumsden’s directive Glenmorangie first matured in ex-bourbon oak casks. Then spent several years in heavily toasted casks which had previously contained Portuguese red wine. ‘Heavily toasted’ being the secret to the sweetness.

Glenmorangie Milsean is smooth and tasteful, light on the palate, yet bold. Cherries, candied orange peel, caramel (and ginger) all get picked up on the nose.

It was meant to surprise, and it certainly did.

How to Drink it

It lends itself well to most meals, and can be taken as a dessert wine.

To open it up, just add a few drops of water.

Why BLQ Recommends it

It is statuesque, premium quality. Yet it doesn’t stay stagnant. It’s alive and it’s at play. Only 5000 cases available.

We’ve realized that different, even this different, can be good.
