An afternoon at ARTEBOTANICA

arteBOTANICA 2019

Runways, lights, cameras, celebrities and models are usually what people first think of when the fashion industry is mentioned. Notably, this year international brand Pyre Moss decided to defy the bounds of runway and hold their shows in more than one location.

Every decision in event planning has to be purposeful. Recently held, arteBOTANICA was determined to keep the narrative different from general industry perceptions. New concepts are best introduced in a way that gets people excited, and this we must say was executed extremely well.

It was a full day of artistic sustainable and ethical fashion. From still to moving installations amplified the beauty Nirox Sculpture Park has to offer as a venue.

This introduction to sustainable and ethical fashion was given in a beautifully vegetated, lush environment to keep the conversation going.

The day was themed white with natural tones, a stark yet complementary contrast to the greens of springsummer. Attendance was at its fullest. Guests and attendees were treated to visual spectacles. There was a piece of art everywhere you turned, from garment installations to musical performances by Msaki, Tresor and KidX. Musician Tubatsi additionally serenaded our ears, setting the mood of the day.

Overall, ethical fashion and art were well represented at the Cradle of Humankind.
