Instead of heading to your local take-out, nurture yourself with some home-cooked fast food. Heres how:

Preparing time: 20 mins

Cooking time: 10 mins

Ingredients:

450 gm Minced beef

1 Egg beaten

1/4 cup Stout Beer

1 Tbsp Olive oil

2 tsp Hot Mustard

1 clove Garlic, crushed

1/2 tsp Salt

1/2 tsp Black pepper

4 fresh Burger buns – Portuguese rolls

work well with this too

Method:

1) Add ingredients to the mince and mix lightly

2)Separate into four portions and gently roll into balls.

3) Press each ball into a burger patty.Preheat each ball into a burger patty. Remember that patties shrink when they’re cooked, so make sure you’ve got them large enough.

4) Preheat your grill or braai and brush each patty with olive oil.

5) Cook for around 4-5 minutes each side.

6)Place on a burger bun with lettuce and sliced raw onion, then smother in your BBQ sauce.
