Two Tons of Good looking (Antonym) Goes On Sale

There are Sand Dunes in SA. Here is a car that’s designed to get you there – pointed fingers and laughter included.

Step off an Emirates Airbus onto Dubai streets and the second aspect of this City that will wow you, after the extravagant buildings, is the metal that prowls the street. It’s everything from everyone’s dream garage. Bugattis, Lambos and Ferraris are in great abundance as are regular cars like Hyundai, Toyota, and Nissan. There are also interesting cars that we may not necessarily know here at home, like the Ford Raptor which, seems is the Ranger of choice in those parts. And then there are true Emirate cars; the big, bad SUVs. From Toyota Land Cruisers to Hummer H2s, they sway from side to side when a strong wind blows and they can be seen with their intent of delving deep into the desert that snaps at the toes of Dubai.

But the Dubees have more than just bulky Toyotas as choice Camels for Arabian Nights under the stars. They also have this; the Infiniti QX80; the largest, most luxuriously appointed model of Nissan’s premium wing. It was quick to notice it in the melee’ of cars in the City. The bulk of the car and its impossibly odd looks stick out the most.

It’s now on sale in SA and Infiniti has gone to great pains to highlight each and every luxury detail that can be had in the car. We just cannot even fill this space with half a quarter of the many features listed. However we can tell you that it costs R1 238 000 and has only one option; metallic paint at an extra R3 000.00 added to the price. It’s also powered by 5.6-litre petrol V8 that outputs 298kW and 560Nm transferred to all wheels via a 7-speed gearbox.

The numbers and its internals evidence that it can tackle a sand dune or two with ease while carrying 8-passengers and it sounds like a most expensive, much more capable alternative to a Caravelle.
