According to the World Economic Forum, 54% of the world’s population already lives in cities, as a result, urban living is growing and so are the needs of urban dwellers.

Urban Living

Urban living has come to be known as trying to get the most out of frequently common tiny spaces, without compromising on style and convenience. Fuelling the need for the idea of minimalism. An apartment is more than just an apartment, it is a living space – an extension of one’s vibrant personality.

Economical Urban Living

Most urban flats and apartments are not that spacious. Furthermore, smaller living spaces require small, chic compact appliances and furniture. Interestingly, 46% of people chose minimalism as the ‘Top Trend for Summer 2019’, in the EU. This trend also has traction here in South Africa as our cities are growing rapidly, and demand for urban flats is rising according to Stats SA.

Minimalism being a focus on the essentials – the art of prioritization.

Some of the primary concerns of urban dwellers are space, convenience, style, experience and cost. This then necessitates the purchase and usage of more economical appliances for multi-purposes and function. Appliances such as toploader washing machines, blenders and coffee machines among others, are being redesigned to cater for the urban dweller.

Also, those with a predilection for minimalism tend to go for white airy interiors, as it gives the illusion of a wider space and is timeless.

The Call of Urban Living

Technology has revolutionised the way we live. A brand that has answered the call of urban living as well as provide innovative, lifestyle solutions is Nespresso. Founded circa 1986 in Switzerland with a modest staff component of six employees. Nespresso’s story began with a simple but revolutionary idea: enable anyone to create the perfect cup of coffee.

They’ve developed a mini compact sized coffee machine, the Nespresso Essenza Mini Espresso Machine. In addition to that, they have three new flavoursome Nordic-inspired flavours, that embrace sheer convenient living, namely;

Nespresso’s New Variants

  • Nordic Black – a smooth, aromatic African and South American Arabica blend, with delicate fruity notes and a lingering cereal aftertaste.

  • Nordic Cloudberry – with a sweet, jammy fruitiness, this rich blend perfectly celebrates the Nordic cloudberry, after which it is named.

  • Nordic Almond Cake – biscuity aromas and a subtle sweetness make this blend moreish, just like the national Norwegian cake that inspired it.

These Nespresso limited edition coffees will only be available from 04 November 2019.
