A Full Day of Eco-fashion, Treats, Eats and Sun at Country Road Summer 

Eco-fashion and Lifestyle by Country Road 

Country Road is the latest brand to bring sustainability to the core of the stylish consumer’s mind. They recently hosted the glitterati of Johannesburg to a quaint showing of their new eco-fashion and lifestyle collections. BLQ was there to experience some sun and eco-fun.

The location of choice was Westcliff. As we walked into the venue – heels and all, one got a sense of adventure already based on the landscape of the house. Followed by spotting  a beautiful, striking image of a Country Road banner with a model wearing a burnt orange number.

Chardonnay and bubbles in hand, audience members were ushered through to the open kitchen area, where Urbanologi chef, Jack Coetzee shared some food education. Part of sustainable living is not wasting and making most of food including offcuts. The chef had a cooking showcase where he prepared chicken livers. Much to the delight of some attendees.

Musician, Zoe Modiga and her band were also at the soiree. Enthralling audiences with her musical numbers. She showed off her shoulders in a stunning one arm dress. Spotted influential foodie Luyanda Maf, as well Lulama Wolf who has a long relationship with the sustainable lifestyle brand.

All while canapés were served to guests generously. Whilst others attended the immersive cooking showcase, others walked downstairs for a viewing of more summer clothing. 

The brand posits itself as purveyors of beautiful products that are made to last. This day was one of beautiful and thoughtful experiences.

Highlights of the Day  Eco-fashion country-road summer BLQ

Urbanologi. BLQ has reviewed Urbanologi’s brand ethos before and we were pleasantly surprised to see them at the eco event. Zoe Modiga’s performance. A key takeaway was the emphasis on waste reduction of food. Not only is this an economical point, it is also beneficial to our environment. 

The conversation about sustainable fashion is one we should all be partaking in and extending onto how we live as consumers of goods and products. This day was a reminder of this. And one of beautiful experiences.
