08 November 2019 I Keep Learning – a Night of Storytelling and Gems Unathi Nkayi launched her memoir titled; ‘I Keep Learning’, recently at Exclusive Books, Rosebank, Johannesburg. Her book is published by Sifiso Publishers and BLQ was there to witness this milestone. Seats were packed with young and old attendees, adding verisimilitude to a healthy culture of reading in the country. The evening session was styled as an interactive dialogue between Unathi, media personality and broadcaster Melanie Bala as well as actor and artist Kabomo. Dr Judy Dlamini of Sifiso Publishers opened the evening with a hearty welcome to attendees and congratulated Unathi. ‘Music maestro’ Greg Maloka followed with an emotional, nostalgic anecdote of Unathi’s journey in broadcasting and her influential role circa early days of YFM. It was also a night of delight, as the audience sang happy birthday to Unathi in jubilation. The evening signifies a symbolic gathering of African people, united through storytelling. #BLQReads ‘’It is important to document our stories, as a form of preserving our African culture’’– Unathi Nkayi I keep learning Unathi I keep learning Unathi For more BLQ events, click here.
