Showcasing for the very first time at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Joburg 2016, the Cape Town-based brand is the brainchild of Owner and Creative Director, Tamara Chérie Dyson.  After winning the Elle Rising Star Design Award 2014 at AFI Africa Fashion Week, Dyson showed her highly anticipated first official ready-to-wear collection for Summer 2015-16, as well as her exceedingly successful diffusion line created for MRP.  This season, the brand has forged its creative and technical excellence to create an Autumn/Winter collection of beautifully crafted investment pieces, covering both day and eveningwear.

Tamara Chérie offers a truly contemporary take on African fashion, one of both local and global relevance.  Updated skirt suits, double-breasted jumpsuits and pleated knit tennis dresses reflect confidence, independence and sophistication.  True to the brand’s distinctive design style, refined coats and full-length jumpsuits set the tone for a beautifully tailored and structured womenswear collection.  Signature fitted dresses feature high necklines, cinched in waists and bespoke detailing.  It is exceedingly apparent that the designer brand dedicates meticulous attention to every detail throughout the creative process, producing a level of unsurpassed quality and sophisticated excellence.

 

‘Dusk to Dawn’ is inspired by the exquisite array of colours themselves seen spread across the skies during the stages of sunset to sunrise.  Venturing outside a standard dark winter range, the collection brings a lively rich colour palette to life, opening with inky midnight hues and greys, working through ivory, cream and mustard, to burnt orange and deep rich tones of red.  Flashes of metallic colours show up intermittently throughout the range, reminiscent of the rays of bright light creeping through from in-between the clouds at sunset and sunrise.  Much like the skies themselves, the collection sees colour, spirit, and intricate detail with every look. 

Texture is rich and luxurious, whilst still preserving an air of understated finesse.  The range presents an outerwear offering of superbly cut coats and jackets crafted from the finest of wool, mohair and cashmere fabrics.  Fringing and tassels bring an element of fun to the elegant and artisanal designs.  From luxurious woven wools and mohair knits, to pleated silks and sequin-embellished tulles, the collection is a vision of effortless luxury offering the modern woman a look for every occasion.
