Trio of new Mazdas win design awards
The Red Dots are recognised as the quality seal when it comes to design from across all boards

We can’t dispute that the design of cars is now ahead of cup-holder count when it comes to customer demands on cars. Almost all of car brands have upped the ante when it comes to wowing potential customers and a pretty car is all the rage. We also cannot argue with Mazda’s Kodo design philosophy; the company’s current corporate cloak seen on the latest Mazda3, 6 and CX-5 ranges. They are oh-so- good looking.

Well now the company’s efforts have been rewarded with prominent recognition from the Red Dot awards. These awards have existed since 1954 and are recognised as the quality seal when it comes to design from across all boards. For their efforts at creating arresting cars the Mazda MX-5; a two seater roadster that has never disappointed in the looks department as well as the Guinness record holder of the best selling convertible on Earth; the up-coming CX-3 which is a coupe- SUV and the latest Mazda2 hatchback have been honoured.

While still on awards, Mercedes Benz also scooped 3 awards as recent as this week. Presented to the company at the New York Auto Show, the new C-Class took the biggest of gongs and won the WORLD CAR OF THE YEAR while the S-Class Coupe, one of the most beautiful cars to ever grace tarmac took the WORLD LUXURY CAR award for 2015. The new Mercedes- AMG GT was chosen Performance Car 2015.
