Set yourself free and take to the open road. We reviewed the Triumph Rocket lll Roadster and seriously enjoyed the ride.

With its 2,294cc three cylinder engine, the Rocket III Roadster is home to the world’s largest production motorcycle engine, delivering 221Nm of torque at just 2750rpm.

Although The Rocket III Roadster may appear to be large and intimidating, it’s surprisingly not.  Triumph’s sophisticated ECU helps determine the correct fuelling and ignition to tailor the usage of all that torque throughout every single gear, allowing its rider a quick and thrilling, yet controllable experience at any speed

The Roadster’s muscular stance and mid-mounted foot pegs make for a relatively upright riding position that is extremely comfortable at high and low speeds, or even when just maneuvering around the parking lot. Its wide and bulky look is a surprisingly slim fit to sit on with a well-balanced chassis and low centre of gravity.

At first glance you may think that the Triumph Rocket lll Roadster is too big to handle corners with ease, or even stop in time.  But the neutral sitting position allows for excellent bike control that builds confidence with a bit of well-deserved attitude while riding through all types of corners.

Fortunately the Roadster also comes out standard with the advanced ABS (anti-lock) brakes to help control all this torque and power along with the low maintenance shaft drive, upside down front forks and adjustable rear suspension.

Making it one of the most irresistible cruisers is the fact that Triumph also allows for the owner’s personal touch through genuine Triumph add-ons that include screens, sissy bars with rack, leather luggage, adjustable highway pegs, accessory mirrors and embellishers.

Triumph’s aggressive stripped down look with the trademark twin headlights, along with the choice of either Phantom Black with Red twin stripes or Matt Phantom Black with Matt White twin stripes, makes for an incredibly striking motorcycle.

The 396kg (wet weight) Triumph Rocket lll Roadster, priced at R199,500.00 makes you feel like you’re getting more than ‘just a motorcycle’.  And to make it even more irresistible, it also comes with a standard two year unlimited mileage warranty.
